Sequoia House Seattle Tree Maintenance
The Sequoia House Seattle Heritage Tree undergoes regular pruning by certified arborists trained in urban forestry.
This is for the benefit of the tree, as well as to maintain clearance per city code over the sidewalk and the street.
It also helps reveal the natural beauty, removing deadwood that might hide the unique branching of this tree.
Arborists
The present firm caring for the tree is Grun Tree Care, owned by ISA certified arborist Patrick Storey.
Previous firms and arborists include Mark Harman of Stonehedge Tree Experts (retired) and Kathy Holzer of Out on a Limb Tree Service (now retired).
Kathy is also a past world champion in the women’s division for the world tree climbing competition, winning against women half her age. Yes, there is an International Tree Climbing Competition, sponsored annually by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), the industry standard for certified arborists.
ISA Certified Arborists must undergo rigorous training and exams in order to be certified.
Frequency
